Hi! I’m Tina Azaria.
I’m a big dreamer, writer, poet, visual artist and life-long student of healing and expressive arts.
I’ve spent my life studying and practicing art as therapy.
The expressive arts are one of the most direct and gentle ways to approach places of wounding – personal and collective. Through spontaneous, creative expression it’s possible to release the blocked, stagnant and painful emotions, beliefs and energy held in the body, psyche, and heart of each one of us.
My creative work has come from my personal healing work with the arts. I think of each piece, written or visual, as a tiny piece of a larger map of my psyche which has been taking shape over the course of decades.
I paint, write poems and nerdy psych stuff, make and work with masks, draw, make digital art, build altars, create rituals, work with active imagination and generally love to create and express.
In my professional life (AlembicArts.com ) I work with people of all ages and backgrounds, helping them tap into their own vast creative potential and wisdom within and express it in a way that is healing and profoundly transformative.
Visit AlembicArts.com for more info on private sessions, groups and classes.
I have a BA in Fine Art and an MA in Psychology (Depth). I was raised in a large extended family of oral storytellers and nature lovers in Colorado, which has influenced my psyche and my work. I’ve spent the past twelve years raising my (now adult) sons in the SF North Bay with my musician, poet, tech-y, wine-making husband (so Dionysian : ) and our fur buddies.
I’m about bringing the love and compassion, the soul wisdom and creative expression forward in myself (and others) to try to do my part to restore balance to my little corner of the world.
Thanks for checking out my work!
